QueVault started with a straightforward idea: keep software licences together. As the project has developed, that idea has expanded into a home for other structured private records, including logins, passports, memberships, vehicles, and secure notes.
Making room for different kinds of records
The Template Builder is an important part of that change. Rather than squeezing every record into the same form, it lets me work with different sections, fields, and repeating rows. Built-in types remain protected, while copies can be adapted for something more specific.
The details around the record
Attachments, tags, important dates, and reminders help make a vault useful day to day. Local and iCloud-backed vault files provide storage choices, with optional encryption and device authentication for unlocking encrypted vaults.
An early look at Windows
There is also an early native Windows shell running in the development VM. For now it is a read-only vault inspector: a first step toward understanding how the experience should fit Windows, rather than a finished Windows release.
