When License Vault became QueVault

This is the clearest turning point in the recorded history. Around 1–2 August, the application stopped treating every saved item as a software licence. Software License, Secure Note and Login / Password became distinct record templates, and the sidebar began talking about All Records and Record Types. The QueVault name arrived with that broader direction.

The change was bigger than a new label. A prescription needs a reorder date; a membership needs a renewal date; a vehicle can have an MOT or service date. Forcing all of those into software-oriented fields would make a vault for everything feel like a licence manager wearing a different badge. The wording, filters, categories and onboarding needed to follow the information being stored.

Custom templates followed immediately. Template Builder could describe sections and field blocks, with repeating rows for information that naturally forms a list. Built-in templates could be copied without overwriting the originals. This gave the broader idea a practical answer: when the standard record types do not fit, create a better fit.

The commits establish when this direction became visible in the implementation, rather than the exact day we first discussed it. Looking back, this was the week the product’s identity caught up with what its underlying vault could become: a home for many kinds of important personal records.
