The 25 July checkpoint returned to importing, this time with more attention to particular source applications. Early mSecure 6 CSV detection began recognising its structure and preserving flexible fields for review, instead of treating every export as a generic spreadsheet.
That sounds straightforward until an export contains many empty cells, optional fields or records that do not all have the same shape. The review window needed to remain usable with larger and sparser files, so this period also included work to reduce the strain those files placed on it.
The Import/Export tools were tidied up to put working actions first. Planned-app placeholders were removed from the normal workflow, and the export choices were made more explicit about the selected data and any separate icons or attachments.
There is a useful thread running through this stage of development: preserving information is only part of a good import. The interface also has to make uncertainty visible. These were still early format-specific steps, with broader compatibility to come, but the direction was becoming much more practical.
