The 6 July checkpoint made the growing import workflow easier to understand and gave some other tools a clearer home. Backup Now and Restore moved into a dedicated Backup/Restore window, while Settings kept the preferences for where backups go and how many versions to retain.
That separation makes a difference in everyday use. Choosing a backup folder is a preference; restoring a particular copy is a task that deserves space, context and confirmation. Combining both in one settings panel had made them harder to distinguish.
Import review gained more practical detail around mapping columns, including missing values and exports without headings. On the Mac it could open in a separate window, making it easier to inspect the data without squeezing everything into a small sheet.
Export also needed to be honest about file formats. A CSV can carry tabular text, but it cannot contain an invoice attachment or application icon in the same way a packaged export can. Making the separate-file options clearer was part of the same theme this week: give the user enough context to understand what a tool will actually do.
