Media Browser brings local folders, Apple Photos, and network shares into one place. Recently, the focus has been on what happens after selecting a file: how quickly it plays, how seeking behaves, and how much of the screen the controls occupy.
Working with larger remote videos
Larger files make buffering and seeking more noticeable. The streaming work aims to let playback begin without a complete download, with clearer progress and loading feedback while the app talks to the server.
Keeping the media in view
The viewer toolbar has also needed attention. As more actions were added, its layout could spread across the screen and obscure the media. Constraining the panel to its content keeps the controls compact, with a choice of left- or right-hand placement.
The aim is to make browsing and organising feel connected: select items from the viewer, then return to the grid or list with that selection ready for the next action.
